Room 15 Connection

Due to the weather our first class tree picture has been postponed until tomorrow. It is supposed to be a beautiful day!!

Well we survived the heat today!
We took a break in the morning and cooled off outside by painting with water!

This afternoon we also cooled off by visiting the Church. The children did an excellent job of showing me how you sit and act at Church...I was very impressed :)
Here is a look at our week...
Monday
We are continuing learning about letter Cc. For homework tonight there is a letter Cc picture page, a note was attached to explain what to do. This is due back tomorrow.
Scholastic Book Orders went home today and are due back September 7th or you can order online by September 7th.
We are very lucky this year to have a Marist helper in the afternoon. Her name is Rachel and she will be with us for about an hour in the afteronon.
Our Artist of the Week is Sara Cooper! I hope you all enjoyed her artwork on the newsletter.

Tuesday
We have started Math this week and we are still working on our color words! In a week or two the children will be tested on all the color words, so you may want to practice at home too.

Computers ~ please return the interent permission form by today if you have not already done so. Thank you again for all the parents who are willing to help out during our computer time (10:21 ~ 11:01).

While the girls enjoy ice cream and get know each other, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions and to register their daughters.

Please bring your checkbooks and health insurance information to complete registration. There are two one-time fees for the year to be paid upon registration.

Girl Scout Registration Fee: $12 per Girl Scout

Daisy Annual Troop Dues: $30 per year

I am so sorry for the confusion! I looked on my newsletter today and realized that I had the printing practice homework going home on Wednesday and in my planbook I have it going home today, Thursday! So, it is in your child's folder today. Thank you for understanding, I guess all the excitement of our first week in Kindergarten got to me ;)

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, is Gym! Please have your child come to school in their gym uniform and gym shoes.
Also, please remember to send your child with 2 drinks for the day. One they will drink at snack time and the other will be at lunch.

What a wonderful first day it was today!!

All of the children were so lovely and I really enjoyed seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new ones too!
Attached to the packet you received at the Kindergarten Open House was a Getting to Know your child questionnaire. If you could please fill that out and return it back to school in your child's folder that would be great!! Also, thank you to everyone who has already brought it in and for all of the supplies we received today, the classroom is stocked!
Here is a look at the rest of our week...
Wednesday
We will get into the swing of things today! We will still be working on back to school items, but will get right into our daily routine!
Please remember to send in your child's rest towel to be kept at school if your child is here full day.
Also, for all students please remember a snack/lunch mat that we will use each day. This helps keep our tables nice and clean.
Computers ~ today is our first day of computers, if you would like to come and help out our computer time is from 10:21 to 11:01. You can check in the office first...THANK YOU, I am sure Mrs. Rosselini will appreciate it!
Thursday
We are starting Reading! Each week we will be concentrating on one letter. For this week and next our letter will be Cc. Starting next week your child will receive homework that corresponds with the letter of the week. This will be due back the following day.
For Math time this week and next week we will be learning all of our color words! The children will need to memorize all the color words ~ red, blue, yellow, green, purple, orange, black, and brown. We will be working on this a lot over the next two weeks, but practice at home always helps :)
Friday
Please make sure to check your child's folder, many papers will be going home. Remember if you do not receive a snack calendar, do not worry, it is not your month.
For homework, there is a quilt page for you to do with your child, due back the following Friday, September 3rd. These will be placed in the hallway with Mrs. Revis' class quilts to make one large Kindergarten quilt!
