Our first day today was GREAT! What a lovely bunch of children you have. Everyone had a great day it seemed and I think everyone left excited to return! Here is some information for the week and also some more info for the year. I know this time of year can be overwhelming and busy for everyone, so I will probably give many reminders and updates, to keep both you and myself up to date ;)
Here is a look at what we are doing this week...
This week we will be concentrating on getting to know our classroom and each other. Today went great, everyone played very nicely together and followed directions. Clean up time was a sight to see, everyone helped to clean up, I can tell this is going to be a great class. Our daily schedule might change a little bit as I see what works best for us. It seems that when the children come in they are so anxious to play, free time seems to be the best activity to do first. We worked on some "first day of preschool" sheets today and played some games to learn everyone's names. In the afternoon I asked the children to stand up and say their name and their favorite animal, we then read a book about a ton of different animals and we got to point out our favorites! We didn't find a unicorn in the book, but it is still some of our favorites. ;) Each day this week new things will be added to our day. Tomorrow we will be starting our circle time where we go over the weather, calendar, letters, etc... We will also be opening up the painting easel! On Friday will be our first art project, and starting next week we will be into the full swing of things.
Thank you for all the supplies that were brought in today! We are stocked, and I appreciate all the shopping you did.
Here are a few reminders...
* If your child attends preschool all day, please make sure to send them with 2 snacks in addition to their lunch. It is very helpful if their snack is placed in a seperate bag or portion of their lunch box s your child is not tempted to eat their snack for lunch or their lunch for snack.
*If your child is going to extended day at the end of the day, please send a note, so I know exactly where to send them. If they will be going everyday or a set schedule, you can just let me know once.
*The brown envelope was sent home today. If your child attends in the morning, they will receive the info the next day they attend school. Please take out the papers from the brown envelope and return to school the next day.
*Milk orders were sent home today in the afternoon. The milk will start being delivered in October.
*Please feel free to email me with any questions you have. I check my email after school and usually in the evenings and before school, so I should be able to get back to you promptly.

*There is no school on Monday, have a wonderful weekend!!
