With the Easter Break coming up, I want to inform you that the last book report will be typed in computer class, so the students will need a proofread rough draft by Monday, April 19th. They have been working on keyboarding skills in Computer, and many of them are getting quite good. They will type on two Mondays, April 19th and 26th in class. If they feel thay are moving too slowly and need more time, they can go to the Lab after seatwork time any day or after school with your permission...just send a note. The report must be done on our school computers where it will be saved. The cover, however, can be done at home. The entire report should be turned in on Friday, April 30th. Since "spell check" doesn't always work well, students may edit any typing errors on the final copy neatly with a pen. I am pleased with the progress the children have made. They have improved their skills in summarizing, including the most important events and some interesting details in their summaries. They are staying in their chosen tense, and not jumping back and forth between present and past. They are making the necessary corrections on the rough draft and using a dictionary to spell words correctly. Good job overall, boys and girls!
