ANNOUNCEMENTS

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held this Thursday until 7:30 PM but, as I am certain that everyone is aware, conferences can be scheduled at any time and are not limited to the two "official" dates per year.

Students are dismissed at 11:30 AM on Thursday, and there is a day off on Friday!

Part I of the NJHS Spelling Bee was held last Wednesday and, because of those 3rd and 4th graders who knew their stuff, the Bee will be continued this Thursday at 9:00 AM for our 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade contestants.

Congratulations to Sydney Conn, the winner of the competition between the 3rd and 4th grade students!

Thanks to all of those who helped make our NJHS Spelling Bee an enjoyable event. It is always great to see the kids have fun and strive for academic success at the same time!

The 7th grade class will begin EDGE this week with Officer Sean Heilig from the Oak Lawn Police Department, and our class meets with Officer Heilig on Thursday afternoons.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Congratulations to all of the students who were selected for recognition by the NJHS PeeWee Honor Society. We celebrated with a Mardi Gras-themed pizza party! (I know, I know, we should have served jambalaya.)

We will all attend Mass and receive ashes this Wednesday at 10:00 and, during the season of Lent, all classes will attend weekly Stations of the Cross beginning this Friday.

Progress reports for students currently earning a 'D' or an 'F' will be sent home this Friday.

Please continue to monitor Engrade as there are several students, although hanging on with B's and C's, who have multiple missing assignments. The regular updating of Engrade is my communication to all students and parents of the progress being made.

All 7th grade students need to return their EDGE permission slips by this Thursday.
