Correction - Grade 8, Room 20 also will not have music class on Tuesday, Nov. 25th. Therefore, all homework for both 8th grades will be due the following Tues. Dec.2nd

Chimes will play for the 8:30 Mass on Tuesday - practice after school.

We will begin "serious" practicing after Thanksgiving for the Christmas program; sometimes practice will be in church. I may combine both classes of each grade for this.

6th grade and 3rd grade will not meet this week due to the holiday. The same for Grade 8 - Room 22 and Grade 5 - Room 28.
The homework is still due, however. 5th grade has a worksheet on Musicals/Rodgers and Hammerstein. 8th grade has 3 or 4 worksheets depending on the homeroom.

Both 4th grades will meet at Room 25's time, which is after lunch on Tuesday, and both 1st grades will meet at Room 16's time, which is Tuesday at 9:39.
4th grade will do a review on Disney music.

Grade 5 - Room 26 will see excerpts from the video "The Sound of Movies - Rodgers and Hammerstein."
7th grade is starting opera - small packet is due on Tuesday, the 25th.
8th grade - Room 20 will continue with "Hairspray" and/or "Godspell."

4th grade - Music Trivia with Disney Music - Review for upcoming test.
5th grade - Continuing with "The Sound of Music" - hope to finish this week.
6th grade - Finishing up Beethoven - review for upcoming test. We will be starting Tchaikovsky and "The Nutcracker Suite" soon.
7th grade - Finishing up Gershwin - starting Opera.
8th grade - Begin review on the Baroque Period - comparisons of Bach and Handel - start "Bach's Fight For Freedom." Begin practicing parts for "Miracle on Bethlehem Street."

After Thanksgiving, I will begin to have afternoon practices in church for the Christmas program.

Due next week - showing the excerpt from Fantasia on "Rhapsody in Blue."
8th grade - "Hairspray" and/or "Godspell."
No Classes for Grade 1 - Rm. 14; Grade 6 - Rm. 23 and Grade 4 - Room 27 due to P/T Conferences on Thursday.
After Thanksgiving, we will hopefully be practicing for our program in Church.

4th grade - Review of the Music Box - Flash cards of symbols; clapping to beats - Also, Recorder Karate - "Black Belt"; "Ode To Joy."
5th grade - TEST on American Musicals - Continuing with the "Sound of Music."
6th grade - Starting the life of Ludwig von Beethoven.
7th grade - Camille Saint-Saens' "Danse Macabre." If time, we will start George Gershwin.
8th grade - Starting "Godspell" (Way off Broadway version)--Also starting the Baroque Period - packet due next week.
All grades K-7 practice their Christmas music first - 8th grade will be practicing their parts during part of their lunchtime.
All assignments that are late, must be turned in the next day--not the next week and not during class time. It takes time away from the lesson. Thank You!
