WELCOME TO 1ST GRADE!
Welcome! I'm excited to be your child's 1st grade teacher this year!
Here's some important information to know right away:
Tuesday, August 24, is our first day of school. It is a half-day, with dismissal at 11:30. Children should be dressed in their school uniform.
"Specials" classes will begin on Wednesday, August 25, our first full school day, and are scheduled as follows for Room 16:
MONDAY GYM
TUESDAY LIBRARY
WEDNESDAY COMPUTERS
THURSDAY GYM
FRIDAY ART
Please remember that athletic shoes are only to be worn on gym or dress down days.
Our class eats lunch daily at 11:30, but 1st graders get quite hungry by mid-morning. Please send a healthy snack beginning on Wednesday, 8/25. It should be placed in a separate pocket of their backpack than their lunch, so it can be found easily. We won't be sharing snacks as a group this year. Please don't send sweets or drinks for snacktime. There will be plenty of opportunities to get a cool drink of water throughout the day. Your child should also keep a clean cloth dish towel for use as a placemat in their backpack.
Unless we've made arrangements for an older sibling to pick your child up at our classroom door at 2:40, you can plan on meeting them in the church parking lot, where they will be walked daily.
If you have questions or concerns, always feel free to contact me. You can reach me via my St. Linus email by visiting the website www.stlinusschool.org. I make every effort to check my email at least once daily but if you need an immediate response, don't hesitate to contact me by phone (708) 425-1656, ext. 151.
I look forward to meeting you at our Back To School Open House and will keep you posted on this event as details become available. I hope you will check my blog frequently for information on homework, school news, and upcoming events.
