November/December News

The holidays are approaching fast and I am sure the students will be excited. Between now and the Christmas break. a lot of things will be happening in the Middle School. Class Masses and All School Masses, will welcome Thanksgiving prayers, as well as the coming of Our Lord. Check out the web site to see what grades will be having the Masses and join us if you can.

Congrats to the October Students of the Month in Science: Joe Gomulka, Colin Butterfield, Mitch Wieler, Sara Pacella, and Christina Brooks. A job well done by all.

7th and 8th graders have a paper due on the 17th of December. This is a research paper, 3-5 pages and two resources, at least.
6th graders will be working on a project in the Lab.

As always, if you have any concerns or questions, please contact me.

Enjoy the Holidays,
Mr. P.

End of the first quarter is right around the corner. Students seem to be settling in and getting down to business. It has been a good start to the 2008-2009 school year.
I would like to take this time to go over a couple of things, that I am constantly reminding the students.
All grades are on the engrade. If you are missing something, you have until the chapter test to hand it in. If you don't, it is a 60% grade.
You always have homework. If you are taking the notes, you have homework every night. Take time to go over the class notes. This will help you on quizzes as well as the test.
I do not give extra credit. Students are given ample opportunity to receive good grades.
Finally, if you have any concerns, please e-mail me.

Other news. The winter months are coming. Please remember that there is NO PARKING in the morning in the Kiss & Go section. If we all follow this, the students will get into the building and there will be no problems in the street.

I will be choosing a student from each class to be a Science Student of the month. Outside my room, the Students for September are posted and I would again like to congratulate them on a great job.

6th Joe Kopec and Brian Barry
7th Brenna Donegan
8th Samantha Devlin and Austin Norris

Just a little update from Mr.P.

Please remember that Lawler is one way in the morning as well as the afternoon. In the morning, it is a "Kiss & GO" along Lawler.
If you like to walk your child to class, please park in the church lot.

Middle School News:
Science: 6th and 7th graders will have their first test this week. I will always go over what is to be expected on the test. The students will know what to study for the test.
All of their Science grades are on engrade -- mrpawelski -- . If they're missing an assignment, it will be blank and they have until the Chapter Exam to hand it in.
A reminder that all Middle School Students have homework for me every night: Go over the notes that were taken that day and the ones after their last quiz. They never know when a quiz will be!
As always, any questions or concerns, please e-mail me. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
