Please don't go ahead in reader.
Please have your child put name on Math homework.
Please empty folder.
Please read stories together where child signs their name on envelope. Most are too hard for a first grader to read on their own.

Homework:
Reading: Mon. High Frequency Words and reader p. 44-51
Tues. What Pam Can Do
Wed. reader p. 52-67

Spelling: test Friday

Math: timed test Wed.

Grammar: naming part of sentences. This past week we worked as a group to get your child used to the Grammar book. Starting Mon. they will work independently with me reading everything.

One of Friday's Centers!

In your child's folder today is either a paper titled Oh, Cats or The Nap. Four of the five center groups had about 14 minutes to finish this paper. One group had just enough time to listen to the story so they don't have the paper. Some finished and some didn't. Up to you since the reader is in the back pack to finish the paper.

Centers went very well for the first time doing them!

Sorry!

I did not send home the letter that I should have today. It stated that if you want to attend the 11:00 service, as well as the 8:30 that your child will be attending for Mons. then send a note requesting a 10:45 dismissal or sign your child out at the Main Office.

Just when we were getting into a routine.....

Room 14 News
*The coughs have started. You can send in cough drops and I will keep them on my desk for your child when needed.

*The words that go in the shoebox are always part of the reading test on Thurs. I read the sentence to the class then your child has to circle the correct word. I don't say the word choices.

*LUNCH TOWELS ARE STILL MISSING EACH WEEK!

*Since the coming week only has 3 days of school there will not be a spelling test or readers going home. Instead we will be working on our first play! When the play goes home please read together if necessary and RETURN the next day. This play will be performed for the kdg. class to get rid of any nervousness...... Later you will be able to come to our plays!

* SOMETHING NEW!
Spellingcity.com This is a web site where your child will be able to practice the spelling words for the week, and play games that correlate to the words. I will put some of the high frequency words on the first list for practice. There won't be a test on these words. I am very impressed with this help for spelling!
