Hi Parents,
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It was a chilly one. Our classroom is staying cool-its nice!
Thank you to Jack Lundy for this week's snack-he brought in a lot of our favorites!!
We celebrated Emily Hennessy's birthday today-thanks for the Dunkin-munchkins Emily!
Here's what is going on this week in Room 13:
Monday: We began learning the sound of C today and pictures that begin with C in our letter book. Please review the sound with your child and ask him/her to tell you words that begin with c.
On Friday, I will be asking the students to tell me a word that begins with C for our C word poster. At the end of every letter book, we do a word poster. I raffle off the poster when we have completed it. So, during the year, all the students will win a poster.
We began chapter 1 in Math-we will learn about position words such as on, above, below, top, middle, and bottom.
A letter went home today asking for parent volunteers for computers-please help if you are able to.
We are still working on our color words. We have learned red, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Ask your child if he/she can recognize and read these words.
Your child came home with a library book today. All books are to be returned the following Monday. Since there is no school next Monday, please have your child bring their book back on Tuesday. If a book is not returned on time, your child will not be able to check one out until it has been returned.
Tuesday: Computer day
Cc picture paper assigned for homework-a letter will be coming home explaining the assignment.
Wednesday: Cc picture paper due back for class discussion.
Thursday: Art day
Friday: Gym day-gym uniforms/shoes are to be worn.
All snack and rest towels will be coming home to be cleaned.
*** Mrs. Potrawski, our lunch mom coordinator is in NEED of parents to monitor lunch duty. If you are able to assist, she can be reached @ 229-2814 or on her cell @ 601-2814. She would greatly appreciate it. (Its not so bad!)
Please continue to check your child's folder every night for notes and to remember to pack 2 drinks each day-one for snack and the other for lunch. Some students have told me that their mom has only packed one drink-we save that one for lunch. Its your decision.
I am very pleased with how quickly the students have adjusted to our routine already. I came into the room this morning after greeting the students at the doors, and walked in to see them at their seats, folders handed in, and backpacks hanging up. What a nice surprise! I really believe it sets the tone for the day when the students come in, get their things in order, and are sitting in their seats.
Thank you for all the class supplies and having your child prepared for school each day. It truly makes my job a whole lot easier.
Enjoy your week and the long weekend ahead!!
Mrs. Revis
