Hi Families,

Hope all is well, are you tired of the snow yet?
Our week:
Johnny Sivric is our star-of-the-week. Congratulations, Johnny!

Kody is a big brother to twin brothers~Kyle and Matthew. They were born last Friday afternoon, and are home and doing well. Congratulations!

A big thank you to Mrs. Sivric for coming in last Friday to monitor the room so I could attend the Teacher appreciation luncheon. She also gave me an Oreo cookie cake. I shared it with the teachers and it was enjoyed by all!

Two years ago we began a reading program called "Rocking chair Reading." We had grandmas and grandpas visit the room and read to the class. It was a great success and I would like to continue doing it this year. I prefer to have visitors come in the afternoon from 1:00-2:00. You may bring a book or I have plenty here to choose from. A 1/2 hour is usually how long past grandparents have stayed. If you have a grandparent or an Aunt or Uncle in your family that would be interested in being one of our "rocking chair" readers, please e-mail me or send me a note. Thank you~the class loves to have visitors!

Next Wednesday, February 17th is Ash Wednesday. The Kindergarten and Preschool will be planning the mass. I have appointed a few students to have speaking parts, or will be carrying up the gifts. If your child is chosen to read for the mass, a copy of their reading will be in their folder today. Please have your child practice this as often as possible. ALL the students will have a part in the Kindergarten graduation in May.

Have a Happy Valentines Day and enjoy the long weekend!

Mrs. Revis

Hi Families,
Hope you all enjoyed the 3 day weekend. They are always so appreciated! We have had some busy weeks lately, it should be slowing down soon.

Today: Tuesday: Kian is our star-of-the-week. Have fun Baby Duck! We have one student left to be our star-of-the-week. Once we have completed the star of the week activity, I will be sending Baby Duck home with each child for one last visit~just an overnight this time around!

We began Letter book Uu. Now that we have covered all the vowels, I will soon be assigning vowel worksheets as part of our morning work.
A new word list and a copy of our next story came home. I am pleased so far with how well the students have been reading our stories. Beginning in March, I will start my "Take home book" reading program. A letter explaining this reading program will come home in the next two weeks. It is always one of my goals each year to have the students read more than what is required in their letter books.
Our Uu picture paper was assigned~please have your child only find short u pictures~umbrella, umpire, uncle are just some examples.

Wednesday: Happy Birthday Brooke!
Ash Wednesday mass @ 10:00. The Kindergarten and Preschool are in charge of this mass. A few of the students have been chosen to read petitions and bring up the gifts. The entire class will be singing a song after Communion. Hope to see you there.
A Lenten Promise calendar will be coming home in your child's folder. Since Kindergarten children do not quite understand the concept of "giving up" something during Lent, I instead have them do something to show their love for Jesus. Each school day during Lent, your child is assigned a simple task to do. I will be discussing their daily promise each day during our Circle time. I encourage you to have your child do the daily "promise" as much as possible.

Thursday: Happy Birthday Andrew!

Friday: All Great America 6 hour Reading sheets are to be brought in. If your child has completed 6 hours of reading (or being read to), then he/she will receive a ticket to Great America in May. Its a great deal!

I've noticed lately that there are students who do not have a snack towel for snack and lunch time. I would appreciate it if you would make sure your child has one every day.

We are in need of glue sticks! The students have mentioned to me several times that the ones from Target do not work very well.

Thank you to Mrs. Lundy for planning the Valentine party last week, and all the Moms who helped out. I'm very appreciative for all the help with the parties this year~they have been a great success. The Kindergarten picnic is our next and final bash for the year! Its going by fast~graduation will be here before you know it!

No school next Monday~I have an Archdiocese conference to go to.

Have a good week, stay warm!

Hi Parents,
Hope you enjoyed your 3 day weekend~with all the snow!

This week in Kindergarten:

Tuesday: Congratulations Johnny Dillon! He is our star-of-the-week! Since Baby Duck has now visited all our homes, in a few weeks I will be sending home a schedule of when Baby Duck will come and visit again~this time for just an overnight. It will be your final visit with her~oh my!
Bb picture paper assigned for homework
A new word list came home along with sentences that will be covered in our book this week.
A mission bank came home~please have your child give what he/she is able to. All banks are due back by March 26th.

Wednesday: Ice cream day~bring $ 1.00
Bb printing paper for homework

Friday: Progress reports coming home. As mentioned in the newsletter, the report consists of a list of words that I asked each student to read to me. I am just about finished with my testing, and am QUITE pleased!

Next week I am beginning my "Take home" reading program. A letter explaining this will be coming home next Monday.

Thanks to all of you who sent in glue sticks. We certainly go through those!

Please continue to have your child to do their daily "Lenten promise". Each morning we discuss the promise for that day. I am happy to hear that many of the students are doing their little promise. Thank you.

Have a good week~no more snow!!
