I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. It was nice having the time to
share with friends and family.
Well, with Thanksgiving gone, and Christmas right around the corner, I thought I'd
let you know that we will be very busy in the next few weeks, and we will be doing more
work in school and at home. There will be two more Reading tests, one Science Quiz
and Chapter Test, and one more Vocabulary (orange book) Spelling and Unit Test before the Christmas break.
Here is the curent information:

Thursday, Dec. 4th, 2008 Vocabulary (orange book) Unit 7 Spelling Test, and Science
Vocab. words for Chapter A4 are due. (12 words)
Friday, Dec. 5th,2008 Vocabulary (orange book) Unit 7 Test
Monday, Dec. 8th, 2008 All School Mass (10:00 a.m.) Immaculate Conception
Reading Test on the story, "A Big City Dream" and the Skills
Test (Cause-Effect)
Tuesday, Dec. 9th, 2008 Reconciliation for grades 3-8 ; (Time to be announced)

Hello there,

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is upon us. Where did the time go? Anyway, below is the schedule for Monday through Wednesday. I told the students that if we work hard now, then all of us will be able to enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Monday, 11/24/08
English: Chapter Review, pages 78 and 79 are due. Chapter 2 Test.

Tuesday, 11/25/08
All School Mass at 8:30 a.m. Reading Tests on the story, "The Cricket in Times Square" and the Skills Test on Visualization. Science: Chap. A3 Take Home Test is due.

Wednesday, 11/26/08
Book Report Number 2 is due today. Early Dismissal: 11:30 a.m.

The next week and a half will be quite busy finishing up chapters and having tests.
The schedule for the week of Mon. 11/17/08 - Fri. 11/21/08 is as follows:

Monday, 11/17/08 Mass at 8:30 a.m. for Grades 2-5. Grade 4, Room 27 is responsible.
Thursday, 11/20/08 Vocabulary (orange book) Unit 6 Spelling Test
Friday, 11/21/08 Vocabulary (orange book) Unit 6 Test. This test will be open book.
Science: Chapter A3 - Vocabulary Quiz (all the words in the chapter)

For the following week, we will be having an English Test - Chapter 2, and a Science Test on Chapter A3. I will give you the specifics for the English and the Science Test by this Wednesday, November 19th.

Hi Everyone,

Today all the students received information about the upcoming Book Fair. This is just a sampling of all the available books and other fun items. Next Tuesday, November 11th, 2008, will be our Preview Day. The students will be given a chance to look through the materials and make a list of items to buy. Our actual shopping day will be on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. If you would like to preview the materials with your child on Tuesday afternoon, or shop on Wednesday, you're more than welcome to come.

I will not be sending home any November Scholastic orders on account of the Book Fair. If you would like to have a November order, then just email me.

For Wednesday, Oct. 29th, 2008 Theme: "Don't Let Dugs Turn Your Life Inside Out"
Students will wear their Uniform Shirt inside out.

For Thursday, Oct. 30th, 2008 Theme: "Living Drug Free is No Sweat" Everyone will wear
sweats to school. Please Note: If a student doesn't have any sweats, then please have
them wear their uniforms.

For Friday, Oct. 31st, 2008. Wear Red Ribbons. Winners of the Candy Jar Contest
will be announced.

The kids had a busy week studying for tests as well as making sure their homework was completed. I didn't give any homework over the weekend; but I do encourage the children to read their book they're doing for the report. This is just a quick note to let you that the kids are Not allowed to wear jeans to school tomorrow. An announcement was made this afternoon that in honor of the Sox and the Cubs in the playoffs, the students may wear either Sox or Cubs apparel. Examples would be a Sox or Cubs shirt, or pants that have the Sox or Cubs logo. If your child chooses not to wear something with Sox or Cubs on it, then your child needs to wear the school uniform.
