Good Morning,

If I had given you extra books to keep at home, ( whether it be Reading, Science, or English),
could you please start sending them back to school? I have to make sure I have enough textbooks for next year. I really appreciate your cooperation in this matter. The next thing is for Room 27. On Wednesday, 05/05/2010, Room 27 will be having Art. Please send an old tee-shirt to school . The class will be tie-dying shirts for the picnic, and I don't want the uniforms

Good Evening,

Mrs. Potrowski told me that she is having some foot trouble and is suppossed to stay off her feet as much as possible. She is wondering if some parents would be able to do lunch duty for the fourth grade. If you are able to help out, or if you have any questions, feel free to
to contact her. Thank You in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

Today, the students were told about the English Project. It's focusing on the five parts of speech: nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. The kids were able to choose five sheets of paper. Each paper will have a different part of speech on it. The students may decorate them any way they 'd like., and a cover sheet needs to be included. The kids are allowed to work on it at school and at home. This project is worth 100 points, and it's due 05/12/2010. The classes have been signing songs about the parts of speech, and I thought
this may be a good way to tie everything together..

Homework: Wed. 05/05/2010 Reading Workbook page 158; Vocabulary (orange book) page 148, and English page 347, Part A ONLY.
Thursday, 05/06/2010 GYM Day for the Fourth Grade, The students may wear their gym uniform to school.
Friday, 05/07/2010 Reading - Open Book Test on "Half-Chicken" There will be no skills test.
Scholastic Orders are due. This will be the last order of the year. Also, the fourth graders will be able to purchase popcorn at lunch for $.50 per bag.

Monday, 05/10/2010 English - page 347, parts B and C are due; Vocabulary (orange book)
Take Home Test on Units 13-16 is due; and Field Trip money is due.
Gym Day - The students may wear their Gym uniforms to school.

Tuesday, 05/11/2010 Reading - the story, "Lou Gehrig" the questions on p. 438 are due.

Wednesday, 05/12/2010 English - The Parts of Speech Project is due.

Thursday, 05/13/2010 Vocabulary (orange book) The Final Test of the Year. The test will
include matching the meaning, spelling, completing the sentences,
synonyms, antonyms, and word associations. There will be 50
Questions.

Friday, 05/14/2010 May Crowning in the Church at 1:15 p.m.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I was really pleased with the English "Parts of Speech"
Projects. The students did a good job. I could tell that a lot of time and effort went into
their work.

Gym Day for the Fourth Grade.

Tuesday, 05/18/2010 8:30 Mass for Grades 2-5.. The 8th Grade Play is in the Afternoon,
Starting at 1:00 p.m. The Reading Skills Test - It will be a take home
test. Tuesday will be a very busy day.
Wednesday, 05/19/2010 English - Test on Chapter 7.
Thursday, 05/20/2010 Gym Day for the 4th Graders
Friday, 05/21/2010 Ladies Guild Hot Lunch
Monday, 05/24/2010 All School Mass at 8:30. English - Part One of the "End of the Year"
Test.
Tuesday, 05/25/2010 - English - Part Two of the "End of the Year" Test.

For the Final Test in English, there will be several review pages that will help get the students
ready for it, The test has 65 multiple choice questions.

Good Afternoon,

I hope everyone is doing well. It's hard to believe that the end of school is fast approaching, and before we know it, we'll be saying good-bye to fourth grade. It's been a good year.
