What a great start to the new year we have had. We had a busy week getting to know each other. I have given the class a number of surveys to find out how they learn best and in what areas they excel. As I told the class, everyone one is smart, but people are smart in different ways. I am hoping to play on the strengths of each of them during the course of the year. I will be teaching reading in flexible (changing for each story) groups and will use their responses to group them.
In Science we have started a unit on Life Science. This Chapter is about the basic structure of living things and how they are clasified. There is a short quiz after each lesson that will count as a grade. The first is Monday. There is a vocabulary guide and a study guide for each chapter. I have already passed them out.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
