Good Afternoon......Later this week you should be receiving a letter from your child's Homeroom/Advisory teacher telling you about the upcoming February 9th, Parent Teacher Conferences. The letter details the times available for conference, (1-4:00pm and 5-7:30pm) It will also talk about the fact the parent conferences can and should take place throughout the year, not just on special days.
Gentle Reminder

The 10:30 mass on January 15th is a school mass. All of the Saint Linus School Children in grades K through Eight are encouraged to attend. Cardinal George and Sister Mary Paul, our school superintendent, will be in attendance to help us celebrate our Blue Ribbon Award. I would anticipate that the church will be filled to maximum capacity, so as you plan, keep in mind that our students will be sitting with their classmates, and the remainder of the pews will be filled on a first come basis.
Thanks for your support.

January 15th

Happy New Year to all!
I am pleased to inform you that I spoke with Father Corcoran this morning and he has confirmed the Cardinal's presence here for the 10:30 mass on January 15th. I have also received confirmation from our School Superintendent, Sister Mary Paul. This will be a special school mass and as such, students are required to wear their school uiniforms and sit with their classmates, much like we do at our regular school masses. I understand that all students may not be able to attend, and that's fine. But if possible, we would certainly like to make a lasting impression. Father Bill will be reminding parishioners at all of this weekend's masses that seating may be an issue. A reception for the Cardinal and Sister Paul will be held in the Cardiff Center immediately following mass.
I hope you can can join us for this special celebration.

I have recently been informed that both Cardinal George and Sister Mary Paul (school superintendent) have accepted our invitation and will be joining us on January 15th for a Blue Ribbon Celebration Mass at 10:30 am.

All of the students will be asked to attend mass in uniform and with their class....it should make a very impressive statement! The Saint Linus faculty and staff will also be in attendance.

Soooo, mark your calendars and plan to join us for this special celebration. A reception will immediately follow. Also, remember on December 20th, the Saint Linus School Christmas extravaganza will be held in the church at 7:00 pm. Church doors will open at 6:30.

December Updates....

I hope everyone had a wonderful "Thanksgiving." As we move into December I would like to update you on a few things.......First of all, Father Bill and I had a terrific time in Washington D.C. It was indeed a pleasure to represent Saint Linus School/Parish as we received the United States Department of Education's award for being a National Blue Ribbon School. To celebrate and proclaim this accomplishment we have posted "Blue Ribbon" banners on the south exterior gym wall and in the gym itself. Hopefully, in near future, we will also have banners hanging on the light poles on 103rd. Thank you again for all of your support, and "Thanks" for choosing Saint Linus School.

Here are few dates you might want to mark on your calendar.....
December 20th.....Christmas Program: 7:00pm in the church.
December 21st.....Last day of school before the Christmas break

Parent Teacher Conferences

Good Morning and welcome to November!! My purpose in writing today is to remind everyone that we have "Gone Green" and as a result, some of the information you would typically receive in the "Brown Envelop" regarding the upcoming PT Coferences is now on line. Please make sure you check our website to receive updated information relative to the Novemeber 10th conferences. November 10th is also the day we are hosting our annual "Veterans Assembly." So if you know a Veteran and would like them to particiapte in this years program, make sure they contact the school office before November 8th. That will allow us enough tome to make sure they are included in the program. This year we are once again holding the ceremony in church at 9:15......

BLUE RIBBON RECOGNITION

On September 15th, 2011, I received notification from the United States Department of Education that Saint Linus School was among the forty-nine private schools nation-wide, chosen to receive National Blue Ribbon status. I cannot tell you how proud I am of all of the members of our educational educational community; parents, faculty, staff and students, who help make all of this possible. Father Corcoran and I will be attending the official recognition ceremony in Washington D.C. on Novemebr 14th and 15th. During the next few days we will be decorating our windows with Blue Ribbons to demonstrate our pride.

A New Year

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to a new school year! First of all, it looks like our enrollment appears to be gradually increasing from a projected 350 students to 361. That’s good news and we hope that trend continues. Our pre-school has a current enrollment of 33!

Looking forward to the month of September, these are the activities that will be taking place:
9/5 – Labor Day Holiday, no school
9/12 – 8th Grade Parent & Student Confirmation Meeting, 7 pm in church
9/14 – Individual School Pictures
9/16 – Classroom Group Pictures, in uniform
9/22 – All School Opening Mass
9/27 – Parent Orientation Night, Grades 1-8, 7 pm in church
9/30 – Ladies’ Guild Hot Lunch

Please remember that school begins at 8:00 am, and students should enter through their assigned doors. All teachers have passed this information along to their students. Only students that have registered with Mrs. Gute for Extended Day Care are allowed to enter the building before the bell rings at 8:00 am and remain in Room 17 until the school day begins. Students who arrive early are to remain outside and will be unsupervised. I ask your cooperation in not bringing your children to school before 8:00 am, unless they are here for a specific educational reason. Tutoring or meeting with an individual teacher are the usual reasons.

Feel free to contact me at 708-425-1656, or through email with any questions or concerns you may have.

Respectfully Yours,
Dr. Stritch
