Welcome 2012!
Welcome to the new year, and what an exciting one it will be!
We are all excited and proud to be one of the national Blue Ribbon School winners of 2012 and St. Linus, as a parish, is celebrating this momentus occasion with a special mass on Sunday, January 15th at 10:30 am. It will be exciting to have Cardinal George and School Superintendent, Sister Mary Paul as attendees. A reception will be held in the Cardiff Center immediately after Mass.
Our sacramental buddies are off to a good start this new year. The second and eighth grade buddies meet the first or second Monday of the month to spend some time together. The topics vary each month, but usually cover an area of our faith. During the month of Janaury the buddies made and colored prayer cards. Each month they look forward to sharing their time and talents with each other, as well as getting to know their buddies a little better.
Computer classes are busy with projects and activites in each grade. Keyboarding is also an important skill that is frequently practiced. Many online activites are explored to enhance the students' knowledge in their various subject areas.
At the end of January and through the first week of February, we will also be celebrating and showing off St. Linus School during Catholic Schools Week. More information will be posted with the various activites taking place during that week.
What a great way to start off 2012...Happy New Year!
